Memorial Day Camping

Well, I just got back from some fun in the hills! I went camping up at Scout Lake for my birthday and although it was super cold (pssst, summer... ahem, ahem.) it didn't rain or snow on us all weekend! A miracle! We stayed warm with big fires and nips of whiskey... oh yes, and forest bowling thanks to a lovely plastic bowling set we picked up. :)

This is why you take your camera with you at 4:30 in the morning.

Wood stacks at the campsite.

Safety first! This way they can't lose me in the woods. ;)

Sara decorated me with battery powered twinkle lights! Yay!

Beautifully eerie burn on the backside of camp.

Pups and pinwheels.

A bunch of my favorite dirtbags deciding on where to ride.

So there you have it! My birthday weekend... it was one of my favorites! Thanks you guys for making it so fun. :)

Yikes! I'm 30!

Well that happened fast! One minute I'm 29, then BAM. 30. I have to say, I'm pretty excited about my thirties. In fact, I plan on celebrating all year! I'm thinking that on the 30th of every month, I'm going to go on an adventure, throw a shindig, or try something new. A few things on my list are:

- See Crater Lake
- Try martial arts
- Bake a cake
- Roadtrip!
- Go caving
- Camp in the Redwoods
- Explore the Steens Mtns.
- Go fishing
- Climb the South Sister

It should be a fun year! I still feel like I'm 7, so I'm not too worried about being old quite yet. ;)

Uh oh, here it comes! DANG, it got me... Thirty it is.

Trailer Trash

Hiya!
Well, the sun is out again. Probably means snow tomorrow, but I'll take it! Cloey-dog and I just got back from our morning walk and I saw an old teardrop trailer parked a few blocks away and started getting trailer fever. ;) As you might know, I'm sort of obsessed with old travel trailers. I even have one tattooed on my foot!

I love hearing about people revamping them into cute little traveling shops. Who knows, maybe one day Urban Farm Designs will be rolling around in an awesome old trailer. One can only dream... But for now, here is some trailer wonderfulness for you to gaze upon. :)

Who has a fun summer trip coming up? I want to hear about it! I'll live vicariously through you guys. :)

Neat Things

Hi all!
This is some crazy weather we've been having over here in Bend! One minute I'm getting a sunburn, the other it's snowing... good gracious. I had a nice & relaxing day off today and am baking tons of banana bread!

(My favorite baking apron... I love field testing my aprons! Hah, yum!)

I've just about got my sewing nook all put together. It took a little longer than I thought. Space is tight in the hovel and each room has only one outlet, so I had to get pretty creative. ;) Anyhow, here are some nuggets of awesomeness that have caught my eye lately.

Have a great day!

Things You Never Knew...

I have a ridiculously large vintage handkerchief collection. I haven't ever been able to part with them (the "Ethel" one may be my favorite!).

I like to imagine that each one has sparked a romance... some fashionable lady dropping it to catch the eye of some dapper fella.

YES I AM A HOPELESS ROMANTIC.

I blame watching Anne of Green Gables too much. (Which, speak of the devil, is in my Netflix queue at this very moment.)

Anyhow, I have gathered handkerchiefs far and wide and now have too many! So I am now prompted to start a "vintage" category on my Etsy shop. These little lovelies will be pressed, bundled in threes, and put up for sale in the next week or so.

(A special few of them will have little l'uccelo stitched onto them too!)

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Cuteness on a string...

Making friendship bracelets used to be one of my favorite things to do. And we're not really talking about when I was 12... more like 25. ;) I used to have stacks of bracelets tied to my wrist all summer until they kind of disintegrated off... haha. Since I've been a massage therapist, bracelets have no longer gotten permanent residence on my wrist, but I think it's time they made a comeback. I'll just have to use a button closure instead of the trusty ole knot. Time to make a run down to the store for embroidery thread. :)

Have a great rest of your day! It's kinda grey over in these parts today, so it's the perfect day to make some bracelets and drink some tea. :)
